Overview

Small specialty neurology practice seeking an experienced Patient Care Coordinator to prepare patient visits, greet patients, obtain vitals and basic medical history, present to the providers and follow up on all patient care needs. This role involves research, direct patient contact, and patient relationship building in a collaborative private practice environment.

Unlike large hospital jobs, this position emphasizes personalized patient care, careful attention to detail, and strong relationships with patients receiving long-term care.

Responsibilities

Checking Patients In

  • After patient checks in with reception, you will take them to your office, do a medication reconciliation, prepare the note, learn about what the patient hopes to achieve in their visit and then present to the provider.

  • After the visit you will order MRIs, labs and send referrals and communicate this to patients.

Handle Patient Inquiries

  • Respond to patient questions

  • Help schedule appointments

  • Forward messages to providers

Prior Authorizations

  • Obtain PAs for medications that ship from a pharmacy such as Kesimpta, Zeposia and Vumerity

  • Write appeal letters for denied medications

  • Continue to follow up with pharmacy and keep patient updated on status

Research

  • Participate in any ongoing research. Current projects include a phase IV TG Therapeutics study and our ongoing ibogaine research

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years in a previous medical practice

  • Experience obtaining vitals

  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus

  • Medical Assistant certificate is a plus

  • Highly detail-oriented and organized

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent typing, spelling and grammar. Ability to write excellent appeal letters.

Schedule and Work environment

  • We have a beautiful 3300 SF class A office building and suite with oak floors, glass walls, a large infusion room consisting of 6 beautiful leather recliners, 2 private infusion suites, and 8 Zyno pumps

  • We have two providers, Susan Anzalone, MD and Sam Wood, PA-C who will oversee all work

  • You will be trained by our current lead infusionist, Walter Brose, EMT-IV

  • Schedule is Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekends and evenings are optional and would be eligible for overtime. No hospital call, nights or weekend work required.

Compensation and benefits

  • Hourly pay from $26-28 depending on experience

  • Full time employees are eligible for 401k with 3% match an eafter just 6 months of employment, and pension after 3 years of employment
